MVT Brings Fiber Internet to the Moapa Band of Paiutes

We are excited to be bringing fiber to our neighbors, the Moapa Band of Paiutes. This fiber build out will take place over four phases, as all MVT fiber builds do.

Phase 1 — Burying Conduit. We started this phase the first part of October. To date we have completed the conduit installation in the “Housing Area” and have moved to the Main Reservation. On the Main Reservation we are working with Overton Power to bury most if not all phone/internet and power lines. We expect to complete this project by December 1.

Phase 2 — Placing Fiber in the Conduit: The conduit is the hub where the fiber lines begin. We expect to begin this phase December 1 and finish by mid-January.

Phase 3 — Fiber Optic Splicing: Splicing is a delicate and time-consuming process. This is where fiber cables are merged to create the length needed to get them from the conduit to homes. We plan to begin this phase February 1.

Phase 4 — Installation to the Home: By the first of March we expect to have our first customers converted to fiber optic internet.

Note: The schedule is subject to change if unforeseeable circumstances occur that impact the timeline.
