What’s That Alert from CommandIQ?

If you’ve seen a pop-up from your CommandIQ app and weren’t sure what it meant, you’re not alone! Here are the three most common alerts and what they really mean:

New Device Connected

CommandIQ will let you know when a new device joins your network or if one reconnects after being offline. Sometimes it’s just a family member dropping by and connecting automatically!

VPN Detected

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) can be used for remote work or to get around parental controls. Some mobile carriers, like Verizon, even turn on VPNs for Wi-Fi calling, so don’t worry if this one pops up unexpectedly. If you’re unsure why you received a VPN alert, give us a call—we’re happy to help.

Security Alarm

These alerts can sound serious, but they’re actually a good sign. They mean your Total WiFi router’s built-in security is working to block suspicious activity and protect your network.
