Speed Testing with CommandIQ

Did you know that at any time you can run an internet speed test at home? With MVT Total Wi-Fi, it’s super easy directly from your smart phone. Speed tests are a great way to determine the health of your internet.

How to run a speed test using the Command IQ app:

You need a MVT router to maximize the insights you can have about your connection. If you are not yet set up on a MVT router, sign up for Total Wi-Fi to get the full experience.
Connect your router to the app. First, download the Command IQ app from the iOS App Store or Google Play. To learn how to download the app and connect it to your router, watch a quick video.
Once the Command IQ app is connected to your router you can run a speed test! Watch this video to see how easy it is.

A few things to know about mesh units:

If you have a MVT supplied mesh/ Wi-Fi extender, you can test the speed from the mesh unit directly to the internet. Doing so will help you determine the health of the mesh’s connection back to the router.
The devices that are connected to the mesh unit will only perform as fast as the connection the mesh unit has to your Wi-Fi. To improve speeds, you will need to either move the mesh unit or get a second mesh unit.
