How do I set up call forwarding?
Follow the steps below, or watch this short video for step-by-step and visual instructions:
- Visit my.mvtel.com, then log in using your landline phone number and password. If you forgot your password, please give us a call at 702.397.2601 so we can reset it for you.
- Under “Phone Status,” click “Forwarding.”
- Select the “Forwarding destinations” tab and fill out the destination (a label for where you’d like to forward your calls, e.g. “my cell”) and associated phone number. Click “Add” to save it, then hit “Apply.”
- Select “immediately” tab, check the “forward calls immediately” box, then select who you’d like to forward calls to from the dropdown menu. You can select whether you’d like your home phone to ring once for forwarded calls (we recommend selecting “no”).
Once you have Call Forwarding configured, you have the option of enabling and disabling it from your landline. Dial *72 to activate Call Forwarding, and dial *73 to disable it.
What is SimRing?
With SimRing enabled, a call to your landline can ring multiple other phone numbers simultaneously. These phone numbers don’t have to be MVT numbers—they can be cell phones, business phones, etc. Essentially, you’re enabling call forwarding to a list of phone numbers, rather than just forwarding to one phone number.
How do I set up SimRing?
Follow the steps below, or watch this short video for step-by-step and visual instructions:
- Visit my.mvtel.com, then log in using your landline phone number and password. If you forgot your password, please give us a call at 702.397.2601 so we can reset it for you.
- Click the “SimRIng” tab.
- Create your list of alternate phone numbers by filling out the “New SimRing Number” field. Fill out the “destination” prompt with the desired phone number, and enter a short description where prompted. Click “Add” to save the number, and “Apply” when you are finished adding numbers to your list.
- “Permit forwarding” refers to whether or not the call can go to voicemail on any of the associated numbers in your list. Select “no” to disable calls from going to voicemail (this means the other lines will continue to ring).
Please note: cell phone providers don’t typically allow the disabling of “permit forwarding.” If a cell phone number is in your list, and the person associated is on the other line/out of service/unable to pick up, the call will be forwarded to their voicemail and it will stop ringing on other lines. - Check the box to enable SimRing on your landline.
Once you have SimRing configured, you have the option to enable and disable it from your landline. Call *58 to enable and *59 to disable this feature.
